About Your Hosts

We’re Steve and Betsy Johnson, and we’re grateful to call this beautiful piece of land home. In 1959, Steve’s father purchased the property — a decision that forever shaped our family’s story. Years later, when a new opportunity brought us back to Mountain Home, we knew it was time to return to our roots. Steve grew up here, and coming back felt like a long-awaited homecoming.

With our two boys entering junior high, we were ready to slow down and embrace country living. We built our home on these 40 peaceful acres, working side-by-side during every phase of construction — even living in an RV and pumping water from the spring along the way. That experience taught our family the value of hard work, teamwork, and gratitude.

This land has always felt special to us. Though we’re only six minutes from the Mountain Home square, the property feels worlds away — quiet, serene, and full of life. From the beginning, we dedicated our home to God and prayed He would use it to bless others. Over the years, we’ve hosted family gatherings, Bible studies, piano lessons, and countless moments of laughter and reflection.

After more than five decades of marriage, we still feel the same joy stepping through the front door that we did the first day we moved in. Now, it’s our privilege to open this space to others — to provide a restful, welcoming environment where guests can recharge and reconnect with what matters most.

Whether you’re visiting for a quiet getaway, a retreat, or a time of inspiration, we hope you feel the love and peace that fill this place. It’s been our family’s greatest blessing, and we’re honored to share it with you.
